What Families Are Saying About Their Doula Experience . . .

Having Marybeth as a doula during my birth was one of the best decisions I have ever made! Throughout my 36 hour labor, she never left my side. She answered every call and provided unwavering support throughout the entire process starting with laboring at home timing contractions and also at the hospital with labor positions and breath work. Her calming presence and hands-on techniques helped me stay grounded throughout labor. Beyond her emotional and physical support, she also had incredibly helpful recommendations when it came to interventions and medications offered by the hospital ensuring I had all the information I needed to make the best decisions for myself and my baby. Her support continued during my 2-day hospital stay after my son was born. She was available to talk and provide support every step of the way.

Marybeth assisted us postpartum as well at my home. She provided hands-on breastfeeding and lactation guidance, helped with meal prep, and even assisted with my newborn at times so I could get some much-needed rest. Her kindness, expertise, and dedication made all the difference in my recovery and transition into motherhood. If you’re looking for a doula who truly goes above and beyond, I wholeheartedly recommend Marybeth!

My husband was one of those husbands: our discussions went a little like this "She is trained on and knows birth like the back of her hand. She can help teach you how to support me and help be extra hands. She knows the signs of where I am in labor, will know when to contact the midwife, she isn't their to replace you but to compliment you and make sure I have the best birth experience possible. You know me and she knows birth.

While my birth experience might not be similar to most births due to the fact that my daughter was diagnosed with a fatal birth defect, I could not have asked for a better person to be by my side during this beautiful yet painful time in my life. Mary Beth was extremely compassionate and helpful during my whole labor experience. While doctors and nurses were constantly coming and going, Mary Beth stayed with me at all times. She had me resting, got me moving, talked to me, sat with me and held my hand and prayed. She not only provided a sense of peace to me, but my husband was also more calm to know that there was someone by our side at all times.

When I entered into labor, Mary Beth held my hand during the entire process, guided my breathing and told me exactly what to do during each contraction. I honestly can't remember any direction from the doctor and nurses, I just remember Mary Beth's gentleness and assertiveness, during the entire process. This was my first time having a baby and Mary Beth was able to calm all my fears.

She was also very helpful during my post-partum. She gave me great advice on how to heal and recover physically.

While this part may not apply to most birth experiences, Mary Beth was not only an incredible Doula but she was a wonderful support during the passing of our daughter . Her nurturing personality helped us to carry this burden, and we can honestly look back with a deep sense of gratitude to God for putting such a beautiful friend and Doula during that painful season in our lives.

I may be a little biased in my opinion of MaryBeth because she is my sister.  However, siblings are usually pretty honest.  MaryBeth has 7 children of her own and had home births for most of them.  I had the privilege of being there for her births.  Each of them was a beautiful experience.  I am 10 years younger than MaryBeth, and she made childbirth seem very easy.  As she was giving birth, she seemed to understand exactly what her body was doing and be in total control.  She was so calm and patient and knowledgeable of what was happening next.  She was "a natural" at giving birth.

. . . and then I had my first child.  Let me assure you, childbirth was not as easy as she made it look.  MaryBeth was there for my daughter's birth.  I was not brave enough to do a home birth, so we were in the hospital.  I was so thankful that she was there, along with my husband.  She coached both of us through labor and delivery.  I was so thankful for the experience and knowledge that she had to make me feel prepared for each step.  I remember her patience and kindness in coaching me during the hard parts.  My husband was definitely not equipped to be a birthing coach.  I was so thankful Mar was there.

When she shared years later that she wanted to pursue getting her doula license, I thought, "that is perfect for her."  She was and will be so good at that!  I personally think that is one of the many gifts that God has given her. Love you, Mar!

I can't say enough about what a blessing Mary Beth was to me. Having her as my doula for both of my children's births was an incredible experience. From the very beginning, she helped us navigate pregnancy with confidence, offering guidance that allowed us to make informed decisions every step of the way. When labor started, she was a calming anchor. Anytime I felt overwhelmed or unsure, MaryBeth was right there, providing encouragement, reassurance, and practical advice. Her years of experience showed in her depth of knowledge and understanding of everything that came up. She knew exactly how to support me in the most comforting way, and her presence through each stage of labor was invaluable. She was incredibly attentive and intuitive, always knowing what I needed before I even had to ask. I felt completely supported and cared for, and I truly knew I was in the hands of someone who had seen countless births and could help make mine as smooth and positive as possible. I’m so grateful for everything she did—her experience helped make my birth far more peaceful and empowering than I ever imagined. I can’t recommend Mary Beth enough!

I am so thankful that MaryBeth was my doula for the births of each of my three sons. Her care for me and commitment to preparing me for childbirth started early on during my first pregnancy. She provided me with informational material and was willing to discuss all my questions and concerns. MaryBeth is incredibly knowledgeable about pregnancy, childbirth, and post-partum care. She communicated with confidence and compassion while always being realistic.

I was able to create birth plana that were right for me, and MaryBeth supported and advocated for my decisions. My three births were each unique, and MaryBeth helped me navigate each of them. She gave me the confidence to make each necessary decision during my births, and I don’t have any regrets about how each of my boys entered the world. I look back on my pregnancy, delivery, and newborn baby days very fondly and MaryBeth played a valuable role in making that my reality. I am eternally grateful for her!
